You can sign out Zoom recorders to use at home. If you have a smart phone, consider using an audio recording app instead. When looking at apps to record with, be sure to check the following:
-Is it free? Sometimes the "free version" of the app will limit quality of recordings or some other function.
-Is it saving in a standard format? (preferably wav or mp3).
-Can you easily e-mail or download the file so that you can move it to a flash drive (it doesn't do you any good if the sound file is "trapped" on your phone.
-How's the quality?
-TEST IT OUT! This is the best way to see if the app will meet your needs.
